A. Initial nutrition appointments are 55 to 85 minutes long.
Q. Do your dietitian nutritionists prescribe medication?
A. Our dietitian nutritionists do not prescribe medications, but they provide expert nutrition counseling to support patients who are on weight loss medications prescribed by our medical weight loss nurse practitioners.
Q. Can I meet with a dietitian nutritionist and a weight loss medication provider on the same day?
A. To ensure insurance coverage, visits with a dietitian nutritionist cannot be scheduled on the same day as appointments with other providers. Most insurance will only cover one visit per day.

Medical nutrition therapy is typically covered by insurance when patients see one of our providers because they are all in-network with most major insurance plans, including Blue Cross/Blue Shield (Anthem & CareFirst), Cigna (Evernorth), United (Optum), and Aetna.
